Accademic Year 2024-2025

I was lucky enough to have been invited to deliver a workshop at the AFRIL allotment to Starfruit class today and what an amazing time we had. The pupils made their own sketchbooks and then took themselves around the allotment doing a selection of activities. Draw your walk, draw your name and create a plant monster being just a few. I was really proud of all the children, independently working and showing genuine excitement at being in nature.

January 2025 Rainbow Club, Starfruit

Accademic Year 2024-2025

I was so impressed with Starfruit class and their Monster storage bags that I thought we could carry on the monster theme. This time we will be using embroidery to create table mats. So far the pupils have created their design and are just about to begin their embroidery. I am so pleased with the work they have done so far.

November/December 2024 Rainbow Club

Accademic Year 2024-2025

In November I decided it would be great for the children to make something practical they could take home. I decided to teach them how to make a hanging storage monster using applique. They brought in some of their pattern work from October too. All pupils designed a monster then using scraps of material and buttons they re created them on templates. These monsters are such fun, some children have already decided what their monsters will look after for them.. for some its the next days clothes, for some its their hairbrush... Im so happy they enjoyed the project.

October 2024 Rainbow Club

Accademic Year 2024-2025

In order to get to know the children in Mango and Starfruit classess we started with some simple pattern work in groups. The children were great at working together and we had real fun. We then went on a trip to the  AFRIL allotment where children participated in a clay workshop and spent time looking at the autumnal foliage around them. The photos you see here were chosen by the children. They all searched for beautiful plants or colourful leaves and directed me to photograph them. I was very proud of their understanding of how to select imagery for photography, they chose carefully and thoughtfully.

Accademic Year 2023-2024

Art Workshops by Hannah ran 3D construction workshops as Art clubs at Morden Mount primary school. All pupils looked at the anatomy of fish and took those elements to create their own 3D swimming creature.

Pupils looked at design and how to adapt and develop a design as the construction process goes on. They learnt about how to manipulate card and paper to create 3 dimentional shapes and how to use glue and tape to hold those shapes in place.

Watch the slide shows to see their amazing work.

Spring 2024 Morden Mount Art Clubs

Accademic Year 2023-2024

Art Workshops by Hannah ran introductory Art clubs at Morden Mount primary school in the spring term.

In KS1 we focused on Colour. Looking at colour mixing, Colour appliction and how colour can represent sound and emotion. Colour mixing was a huge hit and inspired pupils to be creative throughout the rest of the sessions.

In KS2 we looked at 3 different elements of Art and craft, Graphic design and book binding, Clay tiles and then Appliqué with Embroidery. Embroidery proved the most challenging for pupils and Clay the most exciting.

Selection of previous work within schools.

1999-2023

Before i started  Art Workshops by Hannah  I worked with a huge variety of pupils over a huge age and ability range. Here are some of my favourite examples.
