Brookmill Park Summer Picnic Poster Competition
Accademic Year 2024-2025

This summer the pupils in Art club at Morden Mount entered the Brookmill Park Summer Picnic Poster competition. All pupils did beautiful collages, but Tamsin in Year 4 was the overall winner. We are so proud of her, at least 4 other schools entered and to win overall and have her design made into the poster was quite an achievement. Well done Tamnsin.

Art week with Art Award
Academic Year 2024 2025

I am lucky enough to be running an amazing project at Morden Mount Pimary school.
Every pupil in years 3, 4 and 5 visited the Electric Dreams exhibition at the TATE MODERN and then had a week dedicated to learning Maths and Science through Art.
All these pupils will also be entered into the Arts Award. A qualificatiion delivered by Trtinity College London. The award encourages pupils to experience Art, to research Artists and be involved in making and creating.
Here are pupils at work on some of their Art. year 3 made clocks using digital softwear and had a go at spraypainting based on light refractions. Year 4 looked at time and fractions creating paintings using the 'Hard Edge' technique. And yrear 5 learnt 13 new Art techniques in a carouselle workshop which they then applied to a piece of Art of their own design.

School Council Playground Mural
MORDEN MOUNT PRIMARY SCHOOL
Accademic Year 2023-2024
Art Workshops by Hannah had the great pleasure of working with the school pupil council on a mural for their playground. Every pupil in the school created a design and the school council created a short list. From this short list I put a Mural proposal forward and asked pupils for even more designs.
Pupils are focusing on their local Area, their School and the School Moto PROUD which stands for, Perseverance, Respect, Opportunity, Undertanding and Democracy.
Here you can see some of the pupils designs and some of my rough ideas coming together. The area is huge, 56 meters square. I have divided the design into meter square sections so we can highlight as many pupils ideas as possible.
Because the mural is such a huge area it has taken lots of dedicated pupils hours of work, first priming the wall with white paint and then blocking in the ground colours. Its so lovely when you can start to see the design starting to take shape.
See the finished mural here in the video and in the slideshows of images.
Summer 2024 Morden Mount Art Clubs
Accademic Year 2023-2024
Art Workshops by Hannah ran 3D construction workshops as Art clubs at Morden Mount primary school. All pupils looked at the anatomy of fish and took those elements to create their own 3D swimming creature.
Pupils looked at design and how to adapt and develop a design as the construction process goes on. They learnt about how to manipulate card and paper to create 3 dimentional shapes and how to use glue and tape to hold those shapes in place.
Watch the slide shows to see their amazing work.
Spring 2024 Morden Mount Art Clubs
Accademic Year 2023-2024
Art Workshops by Hannah ran introductory Art clubs at Morden Mount primary school in the spring term.
In KS1 we focused on Colour. Looking at colour mixing, Colour appliction and how colour can represent sound and emotion. Colour mixing was a huge hit and inspired pupils to be creative throughout the rest of the sessions.
In KS2 we looked at 3 different elements of Art and craft, Graphic design and book binding, Clay tiles and then Appliqué with Embroidery. Embroidery proved the most challenging for pupils and Clay the most exciting.
Selection of previous work within schools.
1999-2023
Before i started Art Workshops by Hannah I worked with a huge variety of pupils over a huge age and ability range. Here are some of my favourite examples.
