Reception and Year 1 cultural bird Mural boards

Accademic Year 2024-2025

Reception

The children used their imagination to add crazy colours to birds. The birds were chosen because they represent the cultural diversity of the school.

Year 1

Year 1 created collage flowers. They were encouraged to have fun creating the most interesting flowers they could.

I have taken these 2 elements and blended them together to create 10 flowery bird designs. the children are helping me paint them.

Year 2 and 3 Animal Habitat Mural

Accademic Year 2024-2025

For Year 2 and 3 I focused the workshop on Animals and their habitats. We drew animals looking at shape and form, then went on to create fun cardboard tube anamals wuth Rothko inspired habitats to live in.

The mural will be a selection of animals across their habitats. I needed a few animal drawing from the children to enlarge onto the mural and they didnt let me down, you will see in the photos here John Donne has some really creative little people.

Year 4 and 5 Peckham Architecture Mural

Accademic Year 2024-2025

Year 4 and 5 created some fabulous drawings and collages of buildings in Peckham before turning these into mural designs. I took the most striking of these images and translated them into this colourful mural. I intergrated the benches and planters for maximum effect.

Whole school mural

Accademic Year 2024-2025

For this mural the whole school took part. Every member of the school from Nursary pupils and teachersk to Kitchen and office staff. Everyone painted a brick.
